Handcrafted Fly Rod Set, 9', 3/4wt., 4 piece, with Reel, Line, and 2 Handmade Fly Boxes, Handmade Oak Handle and Presentation-style Case
The ROD - The blank is IM8 Graphite - 9’, 4 piece, 3/4 weight. I handcrafted this rod on a graphite blank bought from AliExpress so you get a beautiful rod at a reasonable price. It is dark green with black and copper wraps. Moderately fast action, light and crisp/firm. This rod is a pleasure to cast.
The HANDLE - I turned the handle out of stained oak and it is covered in multiple coats of lacquer with a final waxing. The reel seat is burl with some green to match the rod. The rod has a hook keeper.
The CASE - The case is made of white oak, hickory, with a little mahogany. The top and bottom are hickory, the sides are white oak, and the highlights and interior parts are mahogany. The inside top is cork. Lamb's wool in the top to help hold the rod pieces in place. The reel and the fly boxes are held in place by snapped leather.
The REEL & LINE - Nothing fancy here, just a new, graphite large arbor 3/4 reel with new backing and 4 weight line.
The FLY BOXES - I made these out of bamboo plywood and contain a CNC'd fly on the outside as you can see in the photos. I will also include some leaders as shown in the photos.
Very near everything needed for someone interested in starting fly fishing.
