Just about everything you need to start fly fishing in a grab and go package. Just add flies and you are ready. Rod, reel, line and leaders all in one box. Nothing high end expensive or fancy here, but a nice set for a novice to start or an experienced fly fisherman seeking something a little different.
The rod is a IM8 graphite 9', 5/6 weight, 4 piece rod. An all around rod that casts nice. Nice silver and black wraps with silver alignment dots to help you line it up when putting it together. It also has a hook keeper.
The handle is cork wrapped in rattan. Rattan gives the handle a unique look and feel. Up-locking reel seat.
The case is made primarily of cedar with dark cork in the lid and bottom. The outside is covered in multiple coats of lacquer. I did not lacquer the inside to preserve the cedar smell when opened. I used faux leather straps with snaps to help hold the reel and fly boxes in place.
The fly boxes, one with a dry fly and one with a nymph burned on top, are small and made of hickory and have magnetic closing.
